Athletic Pulse is a prototype magazine I created in the fall of 2024 for Professor Terry Eiler’s Advanced Photographic Reportage class. Each student developed a magazine concept, conducted research, gathered content within a 10-day window, designed the magazine's layout, and wrote their own stories. As a class, we collaborated as members of each other’s editorial board to give feedback. For my Sports issue, I developed a Sports led magazine featuring four stories: in-depth and non contemporary coverage of sports in Southeastern Ohio, featuring a sports management student, profile coverage of International D1 Hockey players from Canada, Trimble High School on and off field coverage and an inside look of Sam's Gym a boxing club.
Visual Storytelling Magazine is an annual publication crafted by students from Ohio University’s Fall 2024 class, led by Professor Sam Girton and Assistant Professor Adonis Durado. Bringing together photographers and interactive designers, the course challenges students to produce two compelling stories—one individual and one collaborative. This dynamic fusion of storytelling and design showcases diverse perspectives, creativity, and the power of visual journalism.
